About the event

Come join us for a weekend spent with the birds! Saskatchewan River Delta is homeland to thousands of speices of birds, it is a diverse and pristine wetlands wilderness. Enjoy a guided trip to our wilderness lodge while staying in one of our cozy cabins, and share with us our home-cooked meals.

Featuring a guided canoe trip onto one of our many lakes to be immersed in wild birds. Enjoy sightings of eagles in their nests and countless birds of the Delta. A beautiful opportunity to enjoy spring birds in their natural wild habitat.

We are a family-run adventure lodge located 55km from Cumberland House, SK, on the Saskatchewan River Delta. We are accessible only by boat in the summer. We offer all sorts of adventures, with shared cabin accommodations, home-cooked dinners, and a sauna. We are off-grid, therefore we have wood stoves, haul water from the river, use outhouses, and hunt/fish/garden for our food. This is our family home steeped in Cree culture and we invite you to be part of our family too!

We will meet you at the Dale Martin's parking location on May 5, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. with a boat to haul your supplies. (pro tip, on highway 123, if you start seeing signs for 20km and higher, you have gone too far and missed the trail, turn back and search again, we will wait) the boat ride is 35km along the river full of eagle nests! When we arrive at the lodge you will be treated to a home cooked meal, cabin and sauna. After that the nocturnal whippoorwill sings us to sleep at night! The next day we will head out to the back lakes to view some more birds , it will be some portage work, but it's worth it! Many species are like to be seen nesting! To many to list here. Sunday we will head out to you vehicle and you can start your drive home.
